Working Description: Willow is not a working farm or ranch dog. However, she is a loyal companion and self appointed protector of our suburban family. She alerts us to any visitors, however she learned quickly from our older dog that the mailman and milkman are not cause for alarm. She keeps our yard free from coyotes, foxes, rabbits, squirrels and other dogs or cats. She instinctively knows small birds at the bird feeder are fine, but large crows and magpies are chased away immediately. She's very social and loves to play with children and other dogs. She's extremely smart and biddable. Off leash at the dog park or on hikes she checks in regularly and comes immediately when called. She is very active, but not compulsive. She has an off-switch and will rest contentedly when her people are working quietly or resting. She's also very loving and sleeps by my side every night, except when she's up on self appointed safety patrol.
