Collin's parents were working farm collies on an old farm that was being dispersed - father appeared to be purebred 1950's-60's AKC type. Mother appeared to be a smooth coated "collie mix" but not of the border type. Collin showed very early herding traits, keen intelligence, and biddable nature. Physically, he is light-medium boned, healthy and balanced, has a medium coat with undercoat, and nicely developed hindquarters. Head is medium with almond eyes, pointed nose and small stop. Ears pointed and erect. Tail is down and flowing unless alert. Has a beautiful collie gait.

Poultry guard and herder. Natural untrained ability to collect poultry and bring them back to pen without spooking them - stops in strategic place and waits for them to head the correct direction - does all this without barking and without instruction. Lies amongst them to guard from predators. Captures escapees and holds with paws. Patrols the property at night. Barks and bristles at strangers, once introduced, he becomes friendly and asks for affection. Kills vermin - rats, chipmunks, voles, etc. Walks with children and owner at natural heel.
